In the next installment of the trilogy Retel Helmrich shows us new changes in Indonesia through the eyes of the Shamsuddin family. The document takes us through the poor suburbs of Jakarta to a family, on the verge of disintegration. An old woman left alone, after her son decides to marry, decides to seek peace and quiet in her village.

Grandmother Rumidjah is a Christian woman in the Muslim capital Jakarta. She wants to leave the hectic city and return to her ancestral village to enjoy her twilight years. However that means leaving her granddaughter Tari in the city. Rumidjah’s life does not get any easier when her son Bakti converts to Islam in order to get married.
