MAY 17

Free entry.

The film closing this year’s edition of the Festival is “Summer ‘82: When Zappa Came to Sicily”. It is not only a personal portrait of the legendary star and musician shown through the eyes of his children, but also a portrait of the world in which he was born to live and create. After the screening I.Krenz’s Warszawska Orkiestra Rozrywkowa will give a concert during which the band will present its own interpretations of Frank Zappa’s compositions.

The I. Krenz Warsaw Entertainment Orchestra is an informal and changeable configuration of personalities connected with Lado ABC record label. This time they will play the repertoire of Frank Zappa. Each of the musicians has a slightly different view on the work and the phenomenon of the artist. A common ground has thus turned out to be quite surprising. The instrumental composition will thus be classically pre-1980s, somewhere between the first recordings of the Mothers and Roxy & Elsewhere. As a result, the repertoire will not have a chance to go beyond the 1970s. The MIDI era will remain a mere prophecy without a chance to crystalise in the 21st century Poland.

The musicians:

Michał Bunio Skrok – vocals
Olaf Deriglasoff – vocals
Marcin Masecki – keyboard, vocals
Tomasz Duda – saxophones, vocals
Miłosz Pękala – vibraphone, percussion instruments
Bartłomiej Tyciński – guitar
Olo Walicki – bass, double bass
Macio Moretti – drums
