Oldschool Renegades: Jacek Sienkiewicz, Mic Ostap and friends – party after the screening of “Oldschool Renegades” (Kinoteka at 7.00 p.m.)

MAY 10
10:00 PM | Cafe Kulturalna
Free entry.

Maurice Steenbergen’s documentary “Oldschool Renegades” describes the beginnings of the world culture created around dance electronic music – techno, house or rave. Since its inception in the 1980s, through its immense increase in popularity in the following decade, to the current days – several dozen artists, DJs and producers talk about the phenomenon they have co-created. Among them are members of The Prodigy, 808 State, Moby, Joey Beltram, Miss Djax, Technotronic or Hardfoor.

After the screening, a party inspired by the film will take place at Cafe Kulturalna. The evening will be hosted by Jacek Sienkiewicz, one of the pioneers of Polish electronic music scene as well as the founder of the first Polish record label releasing techno music on vinyl records – Recognition Recordings – which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Jacek will be accompanied by Mic Ostap, a DJ who has been playing constantly since the beginning of the 1990s (www.recognition.pl).
