Exhibition “Image Mixing” by Peter Mettler

Six monitors will screen works of Peter Mettler. The material was collected during improvised shows of image mixing, which the artist has been doing since 2002. The basis are clips from “Gambling, Gods and LSD”, covered with other layers, which results in new meanings of the original images. Mettler’s visualisations are accompanied by jazz and chamber orchestras, gamelans from Bali and techno shows. Originally, Mettler used Mini DVs and analogue video mixers. For the last seven years he has been developing his own software MIXXA*. “The End of Time” contains a sequence done by similar means and with the same tools.
