After the wave of protests in Russian cities in late 2011/early 2012 and the Spring of 2012, the question of Russia’s future has returned. Commentaries and prognoses predicted new opening in socio-political relations in the Russian Federation, but after a year the question of those movements’ importance remains open. Are they or will they be an impulse for intrinsic changes of the Russian society, and thus Russia itself, or an insignificant episode in its history? Will people like Sergei Udaltsov, the main character of Evgeniya Ibanyes film, become heroes of the longed for political breakthrough? Is he and his allies ready for the changes?

Participants:
Jan Andrzej Dąbrowski – president of the College of Eastern Europe
Evgeniya Montayya Ibanyes – director of “March, March with Your Left”
Józef Pinior – Polish senator, former member of the European Parliament and the Solidarity trade union
Moderator:
Leszek Budrewicz – journalist, publicist, former member of the Solidarity trade union
