Competitions: Lower Silesia Grand Prix – The Marshall of Lower Silesia Award

For the second time PLANETE+ DOC FF in cooperation with the cultural institution Odra-Film, is also organizing the Festival in Wroclaw. A jury, consisting of: Kinga Wołoszyn-Świerk, Stanisław Bereś, Paweł Jarodzki will give out the Lower Silesia Grand Prix – The Marshall of Lower Silesia Award and 3 000 euros to the winning film from the Millennium Competition. The Award is founded by the Marshall of Lower Silesia.

Jury

Stanisław Bereś

Literary historian, critic, essayist, poet, translator. Professor at the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication of the Wroclaw University (previously – Polish studies). He also lectured at the Academy for the Dramatic Arts (till 1987) and, in 1987-93, at the Charles de Gaulle University in Lille, France. In 1996-2011 editor of Television Literary News (broadcast on TVP2 and TVP Polonia). Juror of the Nike Literary Award in 1996-2004. Since 2006 juror of The ANGELUS Central European Literature Award. In 1993-2007 he co-created an international multimedia teaching project in France. Member of Lettres Europeennes and Congress of Polish Culture’s Programme Council (2009), as well as the Programme Council for European Capital of Culture Wroclaw 2016.





Kinga Wołoszyn-Świerk

Documentalist, reporter of Wroclaw branch of TVP S.A., Polish public TV, lecturer of the University of Wroclaw, author of Polish and foreign radio and TV shows. Her many awards and distinctions include the award at the 16th PIK festival and contest in Gdansk. She was also awarded many times for her coverage on social topics. Nominated for the 9th and 16th Polish-German Journalist Award for her radio feature “I Am Carla from Breslau” (2008) and documentary “Girls from Auschwitz” (2011). Winner of the main award, the Golden Sabre, at the Military Film Festival in Warsaw (2011 and 2012), the Silver NURT at the 2012 Polish Festival of Documentary Features NURT in Kielce for “Born for Reich”, Polish Journalists Association’s Award “for publications on contemporary civilisation and culture”, special award of distinction at the International Contest for Documentalists in Malaysia. Holder of grants from Robert Bosch Foundation, Medien Campus Bayern, Journalistinnenbund and, twice, The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (one year’s scholarship from Creativity Promotion Fund 2009/2001 and Young Poland program 2013).



Paweł Jarodzki

Born in Wroclaw. Painter, graphic designer, comic books author. He also writes critics. Curator at the Gallery of Contemporary Art BWA Awangarda. Runs multimedia workshop at the Faculty of Painting and Sculpture of the Wroclaw Academy of Fine Arts. Co-founder and member of legendary artistic group LuXus.
