After the screening the United Nations Development Programme Project Office (UNDP) in Poland, coordinating the UN Global Compact Initiative in Poland, invites you to the debate. Over half of the world’s population lives in cities. By 2050, the number may reach 80 per cent. Looking at the research by a Danish architect Jan Gehl, the film “Human Scale” touches upon the problem of a rapid cities’ growth, emphasizing the needs of their citizens. The debate will be devoted to environmental, social and administrative aspects of city growth. Its participants will try to answer two questions: what makes a metropolis friendly to all its inhabitants, and how to design the city space, taking into account its society’s needs and allowing to build local identity.

Vice-president of Warsaw, Michał Olszewski – on behalf of the President of Warsaw takes care of business activities, plans and strategies for Warsaw development, non-budget financing for their realisation, economic growth, geodesy, cadastre and housing politicies
