Fred Frith is a world-famous jazz experimentator, multi-instrumentalist, one of the most original guitarist. People say that with his solos he re-invented the electric guitar. This member of legendary formations Henry Cow, Skeleton Crew and Massacre became famous after his performance in many times awarded “Step Across the Border”, screened at this year’s PLANETE+ DOC Film Festival. He collaborated with such known artists as Brian Eno, John Zorn, Robert Wyatt or The Residents. Now he teaches improvising at Mills College in Oakland, California, and at the Basel Music Academy.
During his hour-long lecture for musicians, Fred Frith will tell about his experiences with integrating composition and improvisation.

During the PLANETE+ DOC FILM FESTIVAL, you can also see Fred Frith and Peter Mettler “Live Cinema Show” (May 13, Teatr Studio).
