The Apocalypse of the Economy? Jacek Żakowski in Conversation with Ross Ashcroft

Tuesday, May 15, 2012, 6 p.m., Kinoteka, following the screening of the film “Four Horsemen”

Languages of the meeting: Polish and English

After the screening, journalist Jacek Żakowski will discuss the future of global economy with the film's director Ross Ashcroft

Ross Ashcroft is a British entrepreneur, producer and filmmaker as well as a self-proclaimed renegade economist. His film “Four Horsemen” explores the roots of the economic crisis that the media fail to mention and suggests simple recipes to remedy the current situation. 23 prominent theorists and practitioners from the realm of economics attempt to deconstruct the working mechanisms behind global economy, where the primitive ideology of “growth” has left humanity on the brink of bankruptcy. The younger generation from developed countries intuitively feel that the basic element of the system that had guaranteed growth and welfare is no longer functioning. Is the world on the edge? What kind of future awaits posterity?
