Petr Lom - renown international film director created many films on human rights in the past few years (“On the tightrope”, “Bride Kidnapping in Kyrgyzstan”, “Letters to the President”, “Back to the Square”) Yet all of them showed also deep understanding of the very place, its cultural, social and political structure. Lom’s films are very entertaining thanks to their perfect structure and captivating characters. Entirely self-taught, he directs, shoots and edits his own films. He is a former academic with a Ph.D. in political philosophy from Harvard University. To anyone contemplating a career change, he says: do it as soon as possible.

1. Human rights in film making - ethical and practical challenges: particularly when trying to work in closed societies.
2. Independence and documentary filmmaking - how to learn to work as a one man team if you need to?
3. Story telling - how to think about constructing compelling story arcs?
