Jane Goodall, a world-renowned environmentalist and expert on chimpanzee studies, a social activist and UN messenger for peace, will be the guest at this year’s PLANETE DOC FILM FESTIVAL. The septuagenarian British activist is the protagonist of the film “Jane’s Journey”, which will have its Polish premiere at PLANETE DOC FILM FESTIVAL.

Jane Goodall will meet with the festival’s audience and later deliver a lecture in the Copernicus Science Center on May 7, 2011 at 3 PM. Martyna Wojciechowska – chief editor of National Geographic Poland, ambassador of the film Jane’s Journey”, will moderate both meetings.
For the second time in festival’s history, FOCUS magazine will honor the greatest personality of PLANETE DOC FILM FESTIVAL. Jane Goodall will be the recipient of this year’s award. The ceremony will take place on May 7, 2011 and will precede Jane Goodall’s lecture.

Jane Goodall is the founder of the Roots&Shoots program that is based on four “reasons of hope”: the human mind and soul, the resilience of nature and the determination of the young people. Tens of thousands of young people donate their time to the organization in more than 100 different countries worldwide.
