Doc Art Award

This year the best documentary on art will receive the Doc Art Award and EUR 2, 000. The winning film will be chosen by a jury consists of Łukasz Ronduda, Małgorzata Sadowska, Kuba Mikurda.

Jury

Łukasz Rodunda

Art historian, curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Warsaw, assistant professor at the Warsaw School of Social Studies and Humanities. Expert on media strategies employed in art, especially in the 1970s and 80s. Organizer of many well-received exhibitions, both in Poland and abroad (in London, New York, Stuttgart and Notthingham). Curator of video art film screenings in London (Tate Modern), New York (Anthology Film Archives) and Strasbourg (Musee d’Art Contemporain MAMC). Editor of three anthologies about avant-garde experimental Polish cinema, author of two books and many art reviews. In 2011, he debuted as a novelist.


Małgorzata Sadowska


A film journalist and critic, who a long-time contributor to Przekrój weekly, as well as Kino and Film magazines. Prize-winner of Krzystof Mętrak competition for young film critics. One of the authors of the anthologies Polish Cinema Now! Focus on Contemporary Polish Cinema (published by Adam Mickiewicz institute) and Chełmska 21 (WFDiF), the latter focusing on Polish documentary filmmakers. She co-hosts Oglądać albo nie oglądać? („To watch or not to watch?”), a weekly radio show about current film premieres. She also runs a film blog WIDZI MISIĘ (The way I see it).
Kuba Mikurda

Philosopher of culture, critic and Film Series editor in Ha!art publishing house. Faculty member of the Department for Contemporary Culture in the Culture Institute at the Jagiellonian University. He has translated Todd McGowan’s The Real Gaze: Film Theory After Lacan and parts of Slavoy Zizek’s Lacrimae rerum. Co-editor of anthologies about Tsai-Ming Liang, Quay brothers, and surrealism in Polish cinema. One of the initiators and co-founders of the Restart think-tank.
