Synopsis

Every Christmas Marcin Gajewski and his father cook bigos, the quintessential traditional Polish dish. It takes them four days to prepare and contains no less than 60 ingredients. Gajewski senior, himself a filmmaker, cooks and makes pointed remarks about his son’s shortcomings all the while. His tips on filming the bigos preparation are more like orders: “Are you absolutely sure that this is the best possible shot you can find right now?”. Slowly it becomes clear that the rivalry between the two generations has existed for a long time.

Meanwhile the bigos is reduced to an unrecognizable, dark brown mush.
